Saint Luke 4:4 “….It
is written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word
of God.”
Lots of folks are going through some uncomfortable and trying ordeals
during these economic times. The loss of income, savings and material
possessions dampens our hopes and plans. Betrayal, theft and greed by
those we have trusted to protect our interests can test our faith! Conversely,
it is a time to increase our faith in the word of God and quench the evil
works of our enemy, the devil! Draw near to yourselves the power of prayer
and the senselessness of worry and feelings of defeat. This too shall
pass! Stand steadfast in the importance of love, truth and belief of God’s
promises. He will never give you more than you can bear! Prophesies must
be fulfilled. We have been promised food and raiment, the material treasures
of this world cannot compare with a personal relationship with Jesus the
Christ. Search the scriptures, pray unceasingly, surround yourself with
fellow believers and attend to those without faith; face trials and tribulations
with the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:11). This is a time for spiritual
inventory, where are we going? What will we take with us? What do we really
need? If you have faith, hope and charity, pick up your cross and walk
with our Lord in His love. This is the word of God!
